Our New Car

What a great looking car/colour combination.

Apologies if I missed it? Where is the location as it’s also stunning looking scenery.

We're in the bonny Highlands. It's pretty stunning around these parts.IMG_20181224_223945.jpg IMG_20181224_223913.jpg
We're on the banks of the Beauly Firth

As soon as the CLK is prep'd and the weather allows, I'll do a photoshoot with it somewhere stunning. :)

What I don't get is that it still has blanked switches

What doesn't it have...?
What wouldnt MB fit to that...?

Very, very nice / mad toy

I think I know what you mean, I’ve never seen any other switches used on a CLK, yet there’s still 4 blank buttons.
Must be something in another market that uses them.

Nice banger .

I guess also its for the symmetry and aesthetics.
I'm not aware of any other options offered for these switches (and I've studied and studied) ;)

+1

I think the clk63 was produced in limited numbers hence price rightly or wrongly

The black edition certainly was.
Her ladyship is happy with hers, that's all that matters. I am still contemplating getting myself one, a cab maybe, just love their elegance.

Thing is, I'm not sure I can be bothered with ripping out the seats. And I'm certainly not paying someone else to do it. Mrs Edd1968 drove it for the first time yesterday and to work today and wasn't missing the heated seats of her A210 that much.
We'll see how she goes with it. For now it's just lovely, elegant and it makes you feel special when you drive it.
My A210 just makes me feel like a youthful yob again!! ;)
Don't know what yours is like but the heater in mine is very good, is it because folk like to drive with all the windows open in all seasons, my experience is that heated seats aren't needed.

Yes the heating system is brilliant we're not missing them - yet! ;)

I had the same dash on my facelift W203.

There is no configuration where all the blanks are populated... and in fact some switches are mutually exclusive or model-specific, so you just can't have 'every option' like in the old days.

Also, these are not 'blanks' as such, instead the switch panel is one unit - i.e. if you retrofit an option to the car, you can't just add the relevant switch, instead you need a complete new switch panel.

So if you are looking for a fully-populated switch panel, my advice is: give it up :) I know I did.

Yeah, we're not even going to bother with that one. It look symmetrical so we're happy.

... I'm still on my Christmas hols and the weather has been kind up here today. I've been busy.
New front tyres fitted first thing.

New centre caps all round. Wheels are going to be refurb'd after the winter.

I fitted Gav's 15mm spacers on the rear with my A210 extended bolts as an experiment in aesthetics and even though its not been lowered (nor will it be) it looks better balanced at the rear now.

The leather got the once over, the images don't show up how clean the drivers seat now is but believe me it's spotless now.IMG_20181227_160216.jpg
And I couldn't resist finishing off the engine bay. I'd already cleaned it the other day but I like to protect it once clean....the before and after pics.

We're getting there.
Mrs Edd1968 will be home from work soon, I'm sure she'll approve! ;)

I also love the wee touches on these that are designed to aid the mechanic; the bonnet extending struts is one of them. Natty, simple yet effective design.
