Just bought a the SLR V2 Bluetooth cradle (see pic) for my CLS.

I have installed the cradle but just can't get the pairing complete.

The cradle sees the phone (Nokia 5800 Xpress Music) but somehow the phone doesn't get the request for pairing (and therefore can't enter the cradle's 16 digit security code) from the cradle.

Does there need to be network reception? I have been doing this in the underground car park where there is no reception.

Reception shouldn't be an issue as the wireless technology is Bluetooth and not GPRS or whatever.

Have you set your phone to remote access?

Switched bluetooth on which is no doubt not remote access.

If you mean is "Remote SIM access" on, it is.

Do you get to the "SEARCH...." part?

yes, it finds the phone .. I press the button .. COMAND/cradle "calls" with 16 digit code displayed on the COMAND unit .. no reaction from the phone.

I just tried my son's phone at my car. At the first attempt I did not get the phone shown on the list of BT devices at Comand. I tried again, made the adapter search for phones and then from the dial button I got the phone listed. Just selected the 5800 and the 16 digit code was shown at Comand and soon a query at the phone to enter the code. I did and the phone was paired and working fine.

Perhaps you need some more persistence or you could also check your phone SW revision (Nokia 5800 can be updated at home if necessary).

Thanks very much for this. At least now I know it is actually possible.

Will try again.

Just noticed you have 212 and a 221 which has the hard disc COMAND system ...

I had 212 on loan for 24 hours, and pairing the Nokia 5800 with the built in bluetooth of the Audio 20 that took no time at all.

I guess the 212 had in-built BT from the head unit? This would be BT HF profile based and a lot more straightforward to pair (personally I prefer BT SAP).

I've got the BT SAP V2 adapter in my W221 and it should behave pretty much the same way as yours, except that some steps for pairing may work from different buttons or so.

Got the phone paired at the first attempt today ..

I think deleting the paired device with the COMAND unit (as opposed to the cradle) helped.

When it downloaded the phone book, it downloaded the SIM numbers but not the phone's memory numbers.

Even managed a test call!

Thanks all.

Glad to hear you got it paired. Did you try downloading the phone book by "calling" 0000? I admit I did not try this with the 5800 but this is how I get the phone book from the phone memory downloaded when I use other phones.
