Parking brake release problem

My wife W203 has recently developed a fault with the parking brake release pull lever.
When I pull the lever it does not retract by it self , i have to push it back for the parking brake to be effective.
Is there a spring to replace or the cable to be adjusted ,

Please some one advise

It was the item 130, one side of the two fixing point was broken, leading to stay sideways causing enough friction for the handle not to fully retract.

The adjuster under the rear seat is probably out of adjustment and needs lubricating.

This was done long before I discovered the broken handle sleeve
