Parrot bluetooth in 2005 E Class with COMAND 2.5

IMHO go with the UHI upgrade and then install the Mercedes Bluetooth module in the armrest. It doesnt require any drilling.

I don't have £1200+ to spare for that option. If I did, I could think of other ways to spend it on the car that would give me more pleasure!

I am a firm believer in adding resale value to a car.

Parrot CK3100 in E Class

Thanks for your posts on the above.

I have the same phone, car and Comand as BabaBJ. Do I understand that you couldn't get the steering wheel controls to work or was it just the Comand phone buttons? Also what were the options for sound coming through the car speakers? And where has your guy put the speaker, mic and display thingy? I am going for a 3100 for the same reasons as you (my car has phone prewiring but would still need to be ripped out and replaced at a cost of nearly £1000, then wait for MB to produce a BT adaptor for another £400).

Any info you can give me would be gratefully appreciated. Also an update on how well it is all working would be great.

Hi,

I could not get the Parrot to talk to the steering wheel controls or to the COMAND. There is nothing available commercially to connect the Parrot to the fibreoptic MOST system in the car.

I think you can connect to the car speakers if you wish. I didn't want to do this b/cos I felt there was no point as I couldn't connect to the COMAND.

The mic is discreetly hidden by the rear view mirror on the drivers side, while the speaker is in the dash behind the middle vents. The display is just to the left of the steering wheel column. I have attached some pics.

The system has been great. It connects reliably, voice dials and auto-answers. It even works with my wife's Windows Mobile phone when she is driving without any changes. If we are both in the car. We can select which phone connects, depending on who is driving. For an outlay of £250, I can't really complain!

Hope this helps.

By the end of the year it will all be resolved.
