Part numbers for outside temperature display

Mine's a 94 car, but does the plug connector need to be taken apart for A1 and A2 to go into it?

If it is a 94 car I think that you have a cluster like the one in the howto guides, but if you have an updated one thought the 21 pin connector can be dismantled. The plastic coating comes off to reveal sockets where you plug the female adapter in there (top left it is on mine).

I can take some pictures later if you want

OK update on the matter now. I just came back from my local MB indie garage whom was supposed to activate the display.

:-( It didn't. The probe is not recognised as being there... I have booked with the dealer for tomorrow to see if they can.

There is two types of the same temp sensor (one a coned shape which I have fitted and another one which I returned)

It doesn't show anything on the display, be that even the wrong temp.

I will see what happens tomorrow

cone shaped should be the correct type for yours.

That's what I thought as it also fits on the chamber on the bumper but the display just lights up but nothing else (no numbers).

The other one that I returned was the recognised retrofit which was a wire with the a sensor at the end (attached to the wire) not plug in like the cone shaped one. Didn't think it would make any difference and I think I tried them both before returning the retrofit kit as I had the other wired already.

Yes. if I remember right solder the wires onto each pin then push them into the small connector. Then that connector goes into the connector at the back of the cluster. This is where you need to keep the connector steady and upright as all the other plugs can fall out.

Do you think that would the case on mine as well?
