Parts in motion - anyone had experience of them?

I need to source some suspension parts for a non MB. I would normally buy Lemforder but they are not available atm. I came across Partsinmotion on line (a UK based supplier with competitive pricing) and they have the Febi or Borg&Beck control arms that I need - has anyone had any experience of dealing with Partsinmotion and any experience of Febi or B&B please?

I've used them a few times and had good service, their returns department is also good when I ordered the wrong part, in fact I've ordered some aux belt pulleys off them earlier today.

Also worth considering C&G Motor Factors in Harwich. Website under construction.

Owned by a forum member, I've bought parts for my previous E55 there and the service was excellent.
Gav can advise which manufacturers parts he can supply

Never had any issues with orders from parts in motion.

Between those two brands I would go with Febi because I know they are the OEM for control arms on some models.

Having said that I have used Borg & Beck for my rear discs and they've been fine.

+1 nice honest guy to deal with

Many people avoid Febi as their quality is pretty variable. "A lottery" is how they're described by some.

Failing Lemfoerder, I'd look for TRW who made my MB control arms.

I keep reading this criticism of Febi on here but it’s something I’ve never experienced and I’ve bought lots of their products. In particular I find them useful for parts of assemblies that others don’t sell separately such as rubber suspension components.

Likewise. And that's the reason I avoid Febi for anything I cannot replace quickly myself. And that's just about everything!

I ordered Lemfoerder flex discs and received Febi. On inspection, they turned out to be made by SGF, a highly reliable company. So it's not all bad news.

We replaced the hydraulic cam followers in mine and, because I could not do them myself, I specified MB original at 35 quid each. Painful when there are 24 of them! Febi ones were listed at about a tenner each. I have no idea who supplies MB but there are a number of aftermarket suppliers.

Yes, me too. And, like you, I've never had any issues with their parts.

In fact I had a Lemforder control arm which deteriorated prematurely.

That's not to say I wouldn't buy Lemforder in future, but I think personal experiences can vary significantly from brand to brand and part to part.

Thanks all. Not sure how it has taken me so long to find them. The autodoc website really annoys me with all of the pop up ads and it is good to see some badly needed decent UK based competition to ECP/CP4L and GSF.
