PC based Satnav questions.....

Gents,

I need your knowledge!

I have a semi-operable sub notebook made by Acer that is repairable, and I thought that it would make a great SatNav machine for the car.

Various websites show USB and serial external GPS antennae which, I am sure with the right software will make for a usable navigation system.

Any comments on the software required for the PC? Ideally, I'm looking for something that will work in the UK and talk to me as I drive.....
