Hello - today the petrol cap did not fit properly after i filled the car up.

Stuck half open

Tried at home to put it back to the open position to mary it up with the neck.

Went to Halford - but their universal cap costing 5 pounds and meeting MOT requirements did not fit.

Anyone help please?

Thank you.

filler cap

MB part number A2304700305 for a new cap priced at 9.68 euros if you have broken yours and need a replacement.

Thank you - is that the price from an MB dealer?

Will this be covered under warranty'd, thought i'd ask?:)

Thanks

The 9.68 euros is MB list price. As for warranty claim you would have to ask your dealer.

Thank you - the car is booked in for Wed, another warranty repair - since i've had the car, been with them 7/9 times - but they always give me higer spec car and brand new at that.

Will update

Thanks all.

Is this just the plastic screw-on lid? Some older models have a chrome one, I took a part number down ages ago, might look it up :) . Wonder if the part is still valid.

plastic cap to a 53 plate c-180k

dealer said cost around 20 quid, di not investigate further as the said it jams at times and will fix it.

thanks for the help

they were giving me a E class as the c class booked for me had not returned - i opted for the new A class anvantgarde with some extras, drives well - its a disel 1.6, very slow.

i bought just a plastic cap, it is nice and fit with my c200.
