Petrol Vito/Viano - Anyone got any experiences?

What the mpg figures for the 123?

I'm only averaging 25 mpg from my 120 diesel (up to 30 on a long motorway run). So I assume the petrol V6 would be a fair bit worse ...

Ready for this ... found some official figures for the 123:

City - 15.7
Extra-urban - 28.2
Combined - 21.8

The official 'Combined' figure for my 120 is 30.7, so I would reckon on the 123 averaging about 18 mpg in the real world.

I created a spreadsheet figuring this out, BTB.
I used the figures for the 2.2l Viano, 3.0l Viano versus the petrol 3.5l Viano (it was all the data I had in hand). These were the official figures.
I plonked in the consumption and Petrol (£1.042/l) and Diesel (£1.004/l) prices per litre.

At the time, the difference over 80,000km (~ 50,000 miles) between the 2.2l 4cyl Viano Diesel and the 3.5l V6 Viano Petrol was a mere £2,222. Petrol and Diesel prices are different today, obviously, but I was still gobsmacked by the small difference.
Translated it means the petrol V6 needs to be £2,200 cheaper to buy than the 2.2l Diesel, and up to 50,000 miles I'll be in "profit".
So, the petrol is back on the list. :)

Went to see a 115 DL with auto box with loads of extras, nice in Yellow!
18" alloys and comfort pac, swivel captain seats Muti function steering wheel alarm one owner.
50K
I am going to buy it :bannana:

The wife was not sure about the colour but up close is good to go.
Not the 120 I wanted but buying cash no loans, so it can be pimped up.

Going to fit factory roof rails and satnav.

Just having a look for sat nav as my 111 has comand and I will miss it.

just found this Double DIN in dash VW JETTA A5 DVD player with GPS, BT, TV, Car-vision.co.uk

Looks ok and would need some work on the surround to make it fit.

Anyone no of anything better to do the job?
bluetooth touch screen and Nav I am looking for double din.
that must work with the steering wheel controls.

When I was looking at an ML, I worked on 20mpg on a 3.7petrol and 30 on the 2.7cdi.

The difference at the time simply means you have to do a fair few miles to make the dervs pay. The cars are more to buy and so is the fuel...

So mine is worth less...that's ok I paid less :)

What I do think I shoudl have done is that I had fitted LPG almost at the start, prior to the ML I've been changing cars every year...so would not have been worth it, however looks like this is staying with us for a bit. With LPG I would be getting close to 40mpg equivalent...

Best of both worlds then :) I love driving it and its very comfortable.
