Oh dear, talk about a mission! I bet this will make some of you laugh!
So I put a deposit on the car a few days ago and planned to catch a train up to swansea to check out the car on friday and hopefully pick it up. Today I took a half day and was all ready to go when I thought it might be better to bring a friend to view the car and called up a mate who has had problems with his Beemer and knows what to listen out for.
a third of the way up the M5 (starting in Taunton) we hit tailback traffic on J21-19. trawling up the road we found the beemer decided to overheat, and missing the J21 turn off, we pulled up off the slip road. There was no way the car was going to make it to Swansea.
Not admitting defeat, I got out my trusty Blackberry, and found Worle rail station only 10-20 mins walk from the slip road, and cue trundling through some woodland to reach a new housing estate that finally took me to the station. again, Mr Berry came to the rescue and calculated i can get to swansea by 17:43. some 2 hours later than I would have been if i just took the train!
Still nervous and excited about seeing the CL500, I found the dealer to be most helpful, the car is in top nic (except for one problem I've discovered) and after going through the car in the dark - yes, it wasnt ideal, and a test drive, I handed over £8k and took ownership!
Very relieved and most excited about my purchase! Everything about the car just makes me grin ear to ear thinking about it. Now the problem I've discovered...
The Side mirrors seem to have an issue in that the left wing only moves left and right and the right wing only moves up and down. something wrong with the electrics? does anyone know how to fix it or had a similar problem?
secondly, the Sat Nav didnt come with a CD of routes, but does anyone know where to go get a latest version or know of which verison to get which is most up to date?
