Pickup my SLK320 end of the month!

i checked it all out very well and the HPI report and VIN correspond exactly to the car. I have also spoken to HPI and the DVLA and they assure me that this is an entry error and that it happens a lot on the log book and that it will be corrected in my V5.

MB have the complete history of the vehicle on file.

the VIN / Engine / equipment list all match without issue.

Plus its a MB main dealer, so there is some legal recourse if it came to that.

Anyway, its all done now.

And I'm terrible with cars ruling my heart...

better with women!

Received the logbook for the new SClass it had the colour as Red instead of Black, just received the correct logbook.

I had the same on my Silver Arrow - all sorts of mistakes - just wrote a letter to the DVLA and got them changed.

Park sensors can be fitted for less than £150 now and these are good sensors.. around £300 for front and rear with screen.... i would get it done elsewhere as a retrofit MB system is no better than a good quality aftermarket one... infact i think the Valeo ones are better...

One question ( there will be more) is I'm surprised that its doesn't have closure on the remote... I really though the windows would close?? maybe they 'should' .. not a biggie, sure it can be fitted...

Other than that, the drive is quite sublime.. 'slightly' better than the Mazda (i'd bloody hope so eh!) and while very refined and smooth, also has the ability to get VERY lively in a blink of an eye!

And I know I made the best choice in the colour, it shifts from dark blue to a light silver blue.. its great..

Well I could go on for ever...

I've done about 200miles since collecting @ 11am today.. another 100 will go on this weekend..

this car is for DRIVING!

When I 'upgraded' my wife from her SLK to the E Class estate (more room for shopping!) her friend, also an SLK owner, said it could be grounds for divorce!
We are still together but miss the SLK!

That looks nice. If you have total closure it will be IR only from close range to the door handle

True ..mine only works close up to drivers door....say within 15 - 20 feet

Can close the windows by remote on the W203, so may be possible on the R170.

Is there an Infrared 'eye' on your key fob, and is there another on the door handle? If so, point the fob at the handle - an inch or two away - and press and hold the lock button.

Give it a go.

i'l give the closure thing a go.. but didn't notice any IR thing in the door...

its such a great colour.. or colours.. goes from light silver blue in the sun to a dark blue.. have now completed 260 miles since friday..

its just the best... worth every penny... its just so smooth and so relaxed..

regarding window closure from the remote.. can't seem to get it to do anything.. ?? the door handle has a rubber cover with a pic of a key?

can't see any IR thingy...



the fob does have a red lens but i think thats just for battery check..

??

seems odd not to have it on such a modern car.. but still.. not the end of the world.. i'll get a full remote closure kit soon as..

completed 400+ miles since friday... its been great... exactly the sort of drive i want.. relaxed and sedate when required and then never ending acceleration..

The key for the SLK only locks/unlocks the doors unless you fit a remote vario roof control module - like I did

Is very cool Took Mr P's boys out for a play today with the roof off and let them have a play at putting the roof up/down etc - they were rather giddy Had strict orders NOT to tell dad what speed we did. Sadly he then interrogated them both
