Just checked...my car also has an S Class engine...how strange.

Due to the E class engine the car has to be turned over 5/6 times before it can start.

How many of you does it take to do that?

Mate its privately sold! Does not come under the trading act!

That guy will never admit knowing about the problem! And I bet he wasn't the only owner!

The only person going to make out of this is the solicitor!

I would get a second opinion

Right it turns out the head is from a E Class and the bottom of the Engine is the S Class.
Can any shed any light on this as to if its a good or a bad fit for the Car?

So long as half the head bolts are from the S Class you should be ok. And, because the S Class is a bigger car, the bolts should have a higher torque.

HTH.

Which head? Hopefully it's r/h/s because it's a well known fact that S-Class r/h heads are manufactured on Fridays.

P.s. Now, if it's the l/h...

Assuming it's not a wind-up... my advise would be to stop listening to the Merc dealer's tall stories about wrong engines and shot brakes and take the car to a good indie who'll tell you exactly what's what.
