Right, so what would it cost per annum to get an E320 CDI serviced at a main dealer? (40,000 miles = 2 services, I assume)

TIA

My S320cdi cost about £235 for the A service after 15,000 miles and £444 for the B service after 30k miles. Would have cost less if had brought my own oil. Could have gone longer between services using ASSYST but I chose to have a pit stop at 15k

I'm surprised you haven't suggested the A-class? They are, as you have said, just as roomy as an E-class and very efficient etc, because who needs a bigger car
To clear up any confusion here, I have never said anything so stupid as that nobody needs a bigger car than an A class. It would be odd if I did having owned numerous E's an ML an S class, a Honda CRV, two Granadas and a couple of big Volvo estates. If it weren't for the govt and social pressures I think the ML might well be my chosen mode of transport. And if I did not have dogs, nothing for me has ever come close to the 18 months of owning and driving an S class. In that time I did 24,000 miles of private completely non-essential private motoring. Just woke each day thinking up excuses to go for a drive. Magic.

The whole govt approach ignores that some people need big cars either because they have children or dogs, or hobbies like camping, caravanning, boating, horses etc etc.
I love everything about big cars except for the cost to buy them, the fuel consumption, the taxation and the depreciation!
