The windscreen takes ages to demist. The fan works fine and the other vents get plenty of airflow. The pollen filter is clean. I tried taking the heater controls off (manual climate control) and noticed the right-hand control stalk was very easy to turn. It appears that its vent flap in the matrix has come loose or broken.

My question is can this be fixed without removing the dash to access the matrix? There seems to be an access panel where the two control stalks go through held in place by steel spring clips.

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Thanks Adam

Check that there is air going on to the windscreen

I wouldnt be suprised if the heater control panel has been took out and the 2 connecting rods (one for heat and the other for DIRECTION of air flow havent been put back in properly)

the dial could be broken ...always turn down your fan speed before turning the directional dial ....the fans in these are powerfull and a sudden directional change under full fan speed could put somthing amiss

Sorry for not replying sooner. I'm sure something is wrong with one of the internal vent flaps. I do not believe that those spring clips will give me access to the offending flap. So it means a dash board off job and probably a new/used heater matrix. This really is not worth the effort as the screen rarely mists up and the limited air flow can just about clear it.

Cheers

Adam
