Possible to add and activate STH heater on E55 model?

I'd love to install a Webasto heater kit on my 2005 E55 and I believe I can make it fit and route all the waterhoses and stuff so my plan is to buy a complete kit for say an W211 E500 but i'm worried that when it comes to activating it in STAR it might be impossible?

Does anyone know if it in fact possible to have it activated with STAR like on any other model?

Local dealer isn't much help, won't bother to look at it.

You will have to have some coding done, as I seem to recall there is info shown in the cluster at a minimum.

Would be interested to follow progress on this.

Didn't realise these were available on the petrols. Would love to have this on my V6 petrol CLS. Guessing would be the same kit as required on the E.

You can have heater on basically all models except AMG or AMG look for some reason, hopefully just because the factory thinks there's no space to install it.

What do mean by coding, simple procedure in star or something else?

Sucess!
Installed and running via remote but how do I activate the timer settings in the cluster?

tell us more! cluster will require coding to tell it you have the heater!

Yep, found out I had to "code" both the cluster and central gateway module, took some fiddling around in star before I found it, but now I can program 3 different times.

Tomorrow I'll see if I can fit the button by the shifter also, my plan is to take a button and harness from a salvage car and mod my shiftpanel since the AMG panels don't have this button.

Install of the heater didn't cause too much grief, I made it fit in the space in front of the right hand cooler and bumper quite nicely, cut the original bracket down and used that to bolt it to the aluminium bumper bar and mounted the water valve separately in the small space left above the heater and headlight assy instead. Had to make a few new hoses of course.
The rest is just like any other W211 with the wiring and fuelpump.

Photo's please.

Forgot about the pics but here's some.

Added the heater control button in the shift lever panel, instead of buying a new panel I milled it to fit the button, came out great.

As mentioned earlier the heater unit fit quite nicely in front of the cooler when I modified the bracket to bolt onto the bumperbar instead and rerouted the hoses and valve location.

I've been using it almost everyday and 30 minutes makes the car comfy when it is -10, whcih is the coldest we've had so far.
