I have just purchased a dension gateway 500 to install in my W211 with command aps. Does anyone have any ideas where to get the power from close to the command head unit. I am not sure if I should take it from the cdc power or not

I didn't get a fuse holder with the kit and think I should install one. But I have no current draw info for fuse rating.

any helpers. I know some of you have installed the dension?

I seen a lot of posts about the Dension gateway, as far as I can gather it just adds aux inputs onto The command system,or am I missing something!

I have taken a feed from the ciggerete lighter for a phone kit, I would think that is youe best bet.

No idea on fuse ratings unfortunately.

it allows the control of an ipod on the head unit by allowing you to switch between the cdc and the dension

Out of interest, why didn't you opt for the factory IPOD interface? That works with your steering wheel controls and shows track names in the cluster but not on the comand.

If you are looking for power, you can take it from the comand unit by tapping into its live feed.

I just plug mine into the glove box, so this controls it from the steering wheel then?

Not the 3.5mm AUX in connection no. If you have a post late 2004 (MY05)car then you could have the proper factory IPOD interface installed which does allow charging and control from the steering wheel.

Hi Alfie. I looked at this option even at £175 for the ipod kit, and then installation this was well over £400 from MB. I could have done it myself but the dension was only £100.

Do you have the connection info for the command. Do I need any special tools to remove the head unit?

this doesn't allow remote access to the ipod

Isn't £100 kind of cheap? Anymore where that one came from ?

afraid not got it second hand
