Power steering fluid

The level on my power steering fluid is getting near the minimum mark but on checking the owners handbook theres no mention of what spec to use,i have some that i bought for my old clk from mb spares 2 years ago & wondered if this is ok/is universal for all mb's?

Use only MB oil in the power steering, it isnt normal atf fluid that most other systems use. I expect the MB stuff you already have is fine as i think there is only one type that mb use.

The only slightly worrying thing is that you shouldnt need to be topping the reservoir up, mine has never needed a top up in 8 yrs of ownership. (though i have changed the fluid twice in that time) Check the system for any leaks.

^I thought that would be the case but wanted to check,doesn't appear to be any leaks & the dipstick/marker is hard to read being small & black(ok i'm getting old & my eyes arn't what they were)but the level is nearest the bottom mark of the 3 as you look at it?
