Just outside Falmouth. In a posh bit. Sticking out like a sore thumb and thoroughly unwelcome.

To be fair, if the garage is kept busy by people who have work done on account and think it's absolutely marvelous when a bill for a grand arrives for a service, then the owner isn't going to want to waste time trying to save you a few bob.

My car spent its first 5 years in the Falmouth area before I bought it. The first 4 services were (expensively) done at MB Truro and then the 5th service was at MerCare Plymouth. I only mention it because that one seemed good value (though it was only a basic A service). They might be a good alternative for Cornish Merc owners prepared to travel an hour or two....

Appears to be fair to me. As others have said, put it down to experience and the 20% VAT never helps.

I always ask questions beforehand and quotes and possible outcomes then I hand over my business.

ATB, just leave it and move on you will feel better and I reiterate, pricing looks fair IMO
