What's an A0 service?

Afternoon all,

I own a 2015 S212 E250 with 78k miles on it. I've recently started getting a message on the dash saying it's getting close to the "A0 service" I've googled this but can't see too much about it.

Just wondered if any of you fine people can tell me what that includes, I stopped using my local mercedes dealer a few years ago after a dispute of overcharging and a few other issues and have lost confidence so wanted to know what components would be included in this service to instruct my local garage what work to carry out. Thanks so much in advanced.

I think it’s a basic A service (oil and filter change) with nothing extra .

On my crib sheet, A0 service is engine oil and filter, plus sunroof lube if applicable and spark plugs on certain petrol models.

Thanks peeps, was kinda expect the gearbox and diff oil change to be amongst it to be honest. Also what kind of lube does a sunroof need? I have the panoramic sunroof model but surely it's just WD40 in the runners lol

Definitely not WD40 it will clog up very quickly.

From what I saw, there are sellers on eBay that sell (claimed to be) genuine MB pano roof grease in small containers. I guess there's a business to be made out of buying the large tab and selling the contents in small containers to DIY enthusiasts.

Just to be controversial, I used to service my own pano roof. I'd spray/soak the rails with a silicon aerosol spray, and spend ages cleaning all visible areas and runners until spotless. Then coat with plumber's silicon grease and operate the sunroof many times, and remove excess globs of grease build up. Seemed to work a treat, and my guess was it was better than any pano 'service' a dealer would do?

Hiya pal, it's basically just oil and filter. It's a minor service, though I decided to do the fuel, air and pollen filter too anyway.
Just an idea though, ring your local mercedes dealer for a price and what it includes then you know for sure.

Sunroof clean and lube , spark plug change . Plus the usual a service items.
