That's very true, it's only worth what someone will pay.

You could always post the details here - I have a collection of plates myself and have an interest in the cherished plate market. I could give you an opinion based on my knowledge of the market. If you wanted to PM instead of posting the details that's fine. Having said that I'm just a bloke on the internet

It's value will depend upon what type of plate it is. A number of things influence the price someone is willing to pay, for example:

length of number plate / number of characters
whether it is a true dateless plate
the numbers (e.g. single digit, repetitive number, consecutive numbers etc.)
whether it spells a name or features popular initials
whether it needs mis-spacing or any creative placing of bolts / screws etc

e.g. 1 BEN would be worth more than 1 WYD
