private reg value?

Annoyingly, the owner of this plate is not called Hastings, nor does he live there. :(

I have been into plates for many years and have now converted my wife and even my in laws. To the extent that my mother and father in law have matching plates.

I have a plate on my car that has no bearing to my current car, but have had for best side of 10 years, so don't want to part from it now.

That is fascinating, isn't it!

Well, it must be if you are five pages in and still reading.

Many years ago, I ignored the advice of someone about retaining the number plate of a car I owned, an Austin Cambridge, reg'd 36 VME. In those days, cars had to have (I think) minimum six months mot and tax, and the vehicle had to be inspected to retain the number. I drove that particular car to the scrapyard, along with the rights to the number. Scrapyards must have made fortunes in those days from cars with plates such as mine, as did people (one who I know) who worked for local papers and bought them before the paper went on to the streets. He acquired his initials three tmes over, followed by 1, 2, and 3 repectively, back in the 70s, which would pay for the house he rents now if he chose to sell them!

My mother's boss had the same initials as me, and he was one of the first people to buy an A prefixed plate when released by DVLA. I jokingly asked for first refusal should he sell, and some twelve years later, he offered it to me at cost, which my other half bought for my bithday. Now that was fascinating!!

Mines A100 BUY - anyone any ideas to its value?

I'd contact the directors of poundland etc - but you know how much they'd like to pay!!

I have SO10 MON sort of for sale as I dont want to sell it but if Mr stupid comes along ......

Maybe we could sell them as a pair ;)

The plate is featured in next months magazine - its up for stupid money (which they say they can get)

Good Idea - I'm up for that - let me know if anyone bites :thumb: I'll do likewise.
