Problem installing telephone

I am trying to activate my mobile Nokia 6210 into the Audio 50 APS from the mobile phone mount in my E500 and i keep getting the message please insert telephone. I have removed phone and reinserted it many times but the same message comes up. Can anyone help me to get it up and running. The Nokia 6210 is supposed to be compatible according to the manual.

Just like to add that the cradle for the phone has the serial numbers A211 820 14 51 - 03M15 - 094888 022009

Has i said previously i am trying to connect a Nokia 6210, i think the original phone was the Nokia 6310i, thats probably the the problem, but it does say in the manual that you can use the Nokia 6210 if you can believe it.

I have a different car/phone/cradle combo, but it started doing exactly the same and turned out to be the connection pins in the bottom of the phone, swopped the phone for another new identicle one and it worked fine. Hope that helps mate

Thanks Dave, Yes it could very well be the pins as you say, but i don't want to be paying out for another phone which may or not work in the car until i have tried all options. I could do with finding someone with the Nokia 6310i so i can try it before i buy one.
