Problems connecting ipod to E-class 2012

Hi all,

Just bought our first Mercedes and tried connecting the ipod to the car over the weeken and it keeps displaying the error message "Device Not Compatible".

We checked the with the dealer that we had the right cable (518 variant) and it should work according to the MB website.

Also tried an ipod nano and that did the same and then after plugging and unplugging a few times it started working.

All very strange! Has anyone got any suggestions on what to do to make it work?

Reboot the ipod.

What does the label say on the media interface cable (on the iPod plug end).

Does it say MI or MI2 ?
