Problems With Vredestein Ultracs

Hi!
I've followed the advice of some members of this forum and exchanged the original Conti Premium Contacs 225/55/16, for a set of 4 new Vredestein Utracs of the same size, im my W11 270 CDI.
Having run about 1000 miles with'em I had got to balance the wheels for 3 times, because the steering wheel kept vibrating. And if it has improved a little, I
still find that the riding is rough and keep feeling some unpleasant vibrations in the steering wheel. I'm not really sure if things will improve with the mileage.
Any ideas about it?

Perhaps not the wisest of decisions to swap your tyres....i guess contis were better for your car.

pays your money , takes your chances.

I've got Ultracs on an SLK (225/50 and 245/45 17") and I haven't had any problems. I've done about 2k and there is certainly no vibration. They are slightly more noisy than the 16" Bridgestones I had before, but they're bigger. They also seem to grip better and actually work (just) in snow. I'd go back to your supplier and see what they have to say.

I had ultrac 245/45/18's on the back axle that contributed to a bad vibration felt under the car. I freely admit they were worn down to the markers and with the tyres off the rims we could see that they were slightly oval shape and hardly round at all

I've put Conti' Premium Contacts on the back (to match the front), so we'll see how they perform.
