As some of you know I have just recently purchased a CLS55. After collecting it from being valeted earlier today I thought I'd throw up a few pics of the car and give a brief update on the bits that have been carried out. A few weeks ago I received new plugs. I decided to go for the NGK LFR7AIX which are one step colder and was told these would be better to use if I was to go down the modding route at a later date. Thanks to Whitenemesis I managed to get a cracking deal on a set of discs and pads from Mercedes Inchecape. These arrived to me a few weeks back. I also purchased a full set of original AMG/Kompressor badges and got them fitted. The previous owner had the car de badged but in all honesty I think they really suit the car so there back on!

Over the last week I also got the tinted windows removed. I just though the tint that was on the car was a little too dark. It was limo on the back and a very dark tint on the rear doors. over the next couple of weeks I'll decide whether to go light or medium smoke all round.

Last week I received my new alloys which I got in from the US. I wanted to go 20" and the states tend to have a wider variety of styles. I ended up choosing a forged 3 pc split rim. 4 days ago I managed to get them wrapped in some rubber and fitted. I wanted to go for Michelin pilot SS but no one in the country had the size I needed so ended up going for Continential Contact Sport 5's.

I got the whole lot fitted a few days days ago and just collected the car from getting valeted this evening. Unfortunately the only location I could find to snap a few images with sufficient light was the local Tesco's so the quality of the pics aren't great and unfortunately there not taken in the best location. I couldn't gamble on the weather staying dry over the next few days so thought i'd rather get a few pics tonight as the car was gleaming.

The car will be going in over the next few days to get lowered via STAR. I could go down the lowering module route but I'm quite confident with a very slight drop (1-1.5") the car will sit pretty much perfect. I'm not really into the whole slammed look and as i'm using the car everyday it wouldn't make much sense.

Also guys don't shoot me down about the steering wheel in the car....no i'm not making a fashion statement! My wheels been sent away to get re upholstered in alcantara/leather so I have a temp wheel on there at the moment.

I hope you enjoy the pics.

Keep the steering wheel and paint your caipers yellow. Not joking.

The car looks good.

Looks great - gotta love a CLS55:thumb:

The paint looks fab - very deep - what was the process/products?

Wow what a beauty !!!!!
More spec on wheels pls, which company you used? Any problems with duty fees ?

Thanks for all the kind words guys. Its always a labour of love getting bit and bobs done on the car. I'm glad that I managed to get it done over a very short period of time....I can be an inpatient git sometimes!!

Alx I wish I had the balls to keep a yellow steering wheel! I've gone for boring black alcantara and black perforated leather....I would definitley consider getting the calipers done though.

The firm that I use are based in central london. They worked on the car for about 6 hours. They started with prepping the car with G850 cleaner. Then pressure washed with Karcher. shampoo and pressure washed with Karcher again. Interior and carpets washed with Karcher Puzzi 200. Leather cleaner used for seats. Then machine polished using various polishes...T-Cut, a paint renovator, P10 Grov Polish Plus, P30 Anti Hologram Polish Plus and finished with Radiant Wax. All in all it came out very nice. The main objective for me was to restore the depth in the paint and remove the swirl marks that black cars are prone to getting which the valet did. I'm very happy with the results.

Wow looks amazing could you post details on the company you used and what they charged you foz?

The wheels are made by a company called Radenergie. As far as I know the company have ceased trading now but there a few sets still floating around new. My model is the R5 Lemans Edition which I've been told were only made in limited numbers. One thing I did notice is that they are amazingly light....a lot lighter than the AMG's that came off the car. They are 9x20 up front with a ET24 and 11x20 rear with a ET35. The tyre sizes are 255/30/20 front and 305/25/20 rear. They sit pretty flush to the arch but if I was being very critical I would say I could go out another 8-10mm at the back. I'll decide whether to go down the spacer route after its been lowered.

Lovely, really like the wheels!
Reminds me, i really need to wash mine! lol
