Proposed changes to the MOT Test.

My Chauffeur vehicle (Galaxy Ghia X) is classed as a private hire car and has to have an mot every 4 months and if it passes 3 on the trot with no advisorys it then drops to 2. If at anytime it fails or is advised against it then goes back to 3 a year until you pass 3 on the trot again.It can only be done at the council test centre. I do not know how the proposed changes would affect me, maybe not at all as they would not change their practice.

btw the merc passed today, also on the fast pass (0.80). only advisory was the fact that there was an under tray (they can not see under it ).

cost for the year was £85 (service and new lower ball joint), all work done by yours trully....

If you think an MOT station is not behaving properly, the right thing is to appeal and/or report it to VOSA. Now you've paid twice for an MOT certificate!

sort of took your advice, i wrote a letter (to the MOT test station) complaining about how about the way the MOT test was done and if they did not pay for my second mot test (which passed) i would take the matter to Vosa
result: they payed for the second MOT £35.

Yup, Will is a great guy. His acerbic wit can sometimes be taken the wrong way but there isn't a nasty bone in his body.
