Puddle light door size

Anyone any idea what size Festoon bulbs are used on a W202 front puddle light bulbs?

Its dark, cold and I dont fancy getting the tape measure out?

I recently replaced mine with LED's and have one here in my desk at work.

It is a 12v 10w Osram K5618 - n8O-

They are 42mm long which is bigger than the ones in the rear number plate housings.

thats weird! Mine bulbs are 36mm! I only know because i bought some 42mm LEDS to replace them with and they were too big, 36mm fit fine!

the 42mm one i got had 8 LEDs, and the 36mm has got 9 , i manhandled the 42mm one to fit, but the light doesnt seem that bright even compared to the original, although its definately whiter!, the 36mm ones only arrived on sat, so still sitting on my desk at home. i`ll try and take some before and after pics...

Maybe the previous owner made the bigger ones fit but the LED's fitted fine.

I agree that the light output is poo but the colour temp. is better than the earwax yellow of the incandescent ones.

RS sell the LED's at £2.50 +vat but inc. P&P which I think is good.

Do you have the XENON white LED fitted? how about adding some tinfoil behide the bulb to help with brightness?

yep, xenon white, LEDs direct thelight towards the ground, so no reflector needed

Hm pubble lights - don't have those, but I wondered what that blanking plate under the door pocket was for.

Can't be too difficult as a mod. Anyone tried these? Is there a suitable courtesy light feed nearby?

The door pin that actuates your overhead courtesy light is the nearest source ... just run the wire through the trunking for the electric windows ..

Somthing ive noticed:

Facelift models eg mine light independently from the overhead light, eg when you open 1 door, the other doors puddle light's stays off. pre-facelift ones both (or all 4) light up.
