hi

i have had the same sony radio for many years (from my saab days) and put it in the r129, i have a dension ipod classic active holder in the dashboard and it works great

however the sony radio is kaputt and needs replacing. i am have also moved on to iphone5 and thought about getting a new radio (dension iphone 5 devices are £300-400 and not willing to pay that much) with iPhone/ipod support

Halfords | Pioneer DEH-6400BT CD Tuner with iPod/iPhone Control

found this and seems a reasonable price, only thing it does not have is DAB but from reading the forum it is a bit hit and miss and i will have till 2015 to worry about that.

i hardly ever have phone conversations in my car but i guess it is a nice to have. i am planning on getting a proper dashmount bracket so i can use it as GPS device as well (waze is a pretty cool app for that)

does anyone else have a radio type suggestion in the £100-150 price range including iphone support?

No suggestion but watch out with Halfords their pricing varies from week to week. They seem to raise the price to the max then offer something for say half price for a few days:-(

i ended up with the pioneer DEH-4400BT and it works well, i had a problem where the antenna did not power up. i rang halfords and they saw me next day and solved problem in 5 mins, i had offered to pay for the installation service but they did it free of charge (btw problem was resolved by connecting the 2 blue wires which the manual said to only ever connect when using the optional remote control which i did not have)

so good service from halfords but the ken wood jaymanek mention is nicer as the usb ports are at the back so you can hide some cables. but using bluetooth streaming and am now also using the microphone for telephone calls (it is rare i take a call while driving anyway but is an added bonus)

so short is i would probably buy kenwood but halfords (bletchley branch)provided good service

Look at Alpine 136BT, DAB, Bluetooth incl. audio streaming, colour changeable display to match your interior, extremely reliable. If you do decide on that, use the Alpine DAB antenna, and remember to turn on the DAB antenna power feed on the head unit !!!
