Rear light upgrade on W210, is it worth it!?!?

The only Mod that I am really keen to do on my E240 is changing the rear lamps to the more recent version ie reverse lights at the top (and smoked for the nicer look!) So first port of call was the stealers where I was quoted approx £150 for all 4.

Anyway thinking I should be able to pick these up cheaper if I look hard enough I start ringing/emailing around and find that non MB (but new) will set me back approx £138 and from a breakers I am looking at approx £125, now in all honesty what is the point in spending that sort of money for either secondhand or aftermarket non MB parts It seems to me that either I am missing something or this particularly Mod is one that just doesn't pay to bother looking around??????

Wether its worth it or not is totally down to you, its your car!

IMO its a great mod, it makes your car look alot younger

If you buy new lamps they won't be faded or scratched and they will match each other perfectly.

All done and a little bit of discount given too!! So worked out no dearer than the non OEM ones, I'm happy now!!!!

Remember you will have to be handy with a dremel to make them fit.

I think this is one of the best mods possible, I also think your deal was quite good.

Well done the outer ones this evening (in the dark and only took 15 mins!!!) but they look very cool!

Bit worried about the amount of 'shaving' needed on the boot ones so leaving that till the weekend with a bit more light and hopefully the patience to do it properly!
