Rebellion RA550 C63 VMAX Results

Managed 339km/h (212mph) on the Autobahn last week in Billy's ex CLS55. No issues with handling but the road soon disappears. There was still a bit left but traffic ahead dictated the pace so had to abort. Will wait until better weather next year for a max with GoPro set up. great experience in a great car.

Billy's old car was similar spec to mine with almost the same power / torque.....

212mph? I would expect around 190-192 max at VMax and that is over 1.6 miles, to get any higher would mean being at that speed for 2 miles plus, at least 3-4miles to see 195mph which I would expect to be max.

You are a brave man.

Jules.

Great effort gents looks like you had a real blast. Some real exotic kit there as well. Worth checking out the vmax200 Facebook page.

Just wish I could get rid of my limiter without the use of a drill !

I know with the C63 the limiter only kicks in when in top gear, is this the same with the SL?

I am afraid not. Stopped dead at 161 and nothing more in 6th.

Shame as it didn't let up until a hit the wall.

We hit 158MPH but we could only use 3/4 throttle at Top end or the car went into limp mode :/

We are reworking the map at the moment to pull back the unused fuel... with that done I'm confident on topping 170MPH.

Nice one phil, 189mph is very very impressive.

Matt, 158 is also good, love your 350, I had the joy of driving it and can say it is very impressive.:thumb:

I'd look to tune my SLK55 and bring it down one day to vmax, i'd be happy with 170-175mph.

I'm sure the 32 can achieve that, that things is a monster.

Handling was absolutely spot on. No issues with light front end at all, but as Olly has said we are running the full H and R coilovers...

Can't beat H&R Coilovers, I had them on my C55 and they were amazing!

Wonder if I can have some on the SLK55, will have to speak to acid about that.

Hi Jules, think I may have to visit the next Vmax.
There's a stretch of Autobahn unrestricted speed for approx 20miles which I hit every 2 weeks via work so getting plenty of practice in :)
Spoke to Jerry of Eurocharged yesterday so will be popping down South for a few extras when he's over in December. X-pipe, Stage 3 Power package (642bhp) and maybe a few extras. Hope to meet up soon

Chris, Stage 3 I am guessing also includes a larger crank pulley, headers and split cooling? Should be interesting and please keep us informed on here.

I'm impressed by what you do. My dad has been a mechanic all his life and I have been around cars all my life. I have stripped engines on my own since the mk 1 escort era. I used to strip the engine down from top to bottom on my rs 500 in an evening. The c63 I open the bonnet and wouldn't even think about trying to do anything. But I've got to be honest. Over 15 years ago we had a photo shoot for a well known magazine at bruntingthorp. There was 7 x 3 door cosworths all from different tuners. Mine topped out at 168 mph through the traps. But mine wasn't the fastest by far. The fastest was 189 mph the owner was from a well known tuning company and to get this speed he had fitted a different gearbox from a corvette, but we're tallking a 2.0 engine here.

I take my hat of to you guys for delving Ito all this electronic stuff !! But I can't help thinking a de limited c63 in standard form should be topping the 200 mph mark by now if a cosworth back in the day could hit that sort off speed.

It's about space though, the last few MPH always take ages to get and with 2 Miles you would run out of room.

189 MPH for a C63 is very impressive good work :thumb:.

I'm really interested to see what kind of power and performance the V8 bi Turbo cars start making when people start to modify them.

It would be nice to be able to bring the Fireblade down to this event, never had her flat out! :wallbash:

Excellent results!

Remembering that it is over a 2 mile stretch!

Light?

A wee thread hi jack here if that's ok,

I have a new C63 507 and wonder if the front goes light on them as well? Is the 507 suspension just the same a std C63?

Cheers RG

Standard C63 hits 174mph without much hassle at VMax - very unpleasant as the front gets very, very light.

How was the handling at that speed?

S

Kinnel!

That Alpha tuned E63 is only 3/100ths of a sec behind my Honda Fireblade over a 1/4 mile!

Impressive for a 2 Ton Car!
