Remap gains

Not sure if turbo and injectors ate the same on 280 as 320! Thought I'd seen they were different somewhere but been bed since then so might be wrong.

Turbo is the same, just checked so are the injectors

Garret Turbo 765155-5008s
Bosch Injectors 0445115063

How's that? its the same lump as the e320:confused: / who's the local mapper btw?
me too they said they could offer a 30-40hp gain I explained that's only what a 320 has and that i expected a map to offer a bit more

I gave them my reg and told them it was an e280. They said 30-40hp and 40-60 ft/lbs I pointed out that the 280 and 320 have the same engine and that I could get those gains by using a stock 320 map.

Perhaps thats what they wanted to flog you! Use chiptuner's ipswich or even MSL bud ;)

I chap on that group i added you to has a e320 cdi, Mapped by GAD, 312bhp with dyno graph to prove. Think they may have done other stuff on it too.

Wow wonder how long it will last. Mine doesn't smoke like you see vw etc that have excessive boost and pulls very linear and the pull from 30 to we'll into 3 figures on a private road of course is very smile inducing ☺ just get it done you won't regret it.

Can't see that much dude with standard engine.

Then again the E63 says 560 on the tin and is knocking on 600 on the dyno ... ..

Then again can't compare them.

In my pictures previous the engine and the ECU on the 280 /320 are identical, diesels also being fully forged are very strong motors. The torque on the 320 amounts to a bit more, why, i don`t know but i do know that the map from Celtic does what it says on the tin!

The map is designed for use with the std. components and within their tolerances and i know this to be true as i know the roads around where i live like the back of my hand and when i had the remap the kickdown would not happen where it used to at the same speed in the road at WOT because the remap gives more torque it does not have to change down and get the revs up to give better on the move acceleration.

After knowing this and where i am at with the remap i just drive normally as i did with the std. map except i get much more go at a given throttle opening and more mpg, one learns to compensate until you want full power. At the moment i am getting 5mpg more at 50/60mph constant than i did as std. and 40mpg is what Mercedes says it does as std. so good for them for not exaggerating....Lol

I don`t accept what my indy specialist said about more turbo or injector problems for remappers as i use the motor the same, the actuator on mine has no chance of seizing up due to none use:D

Forgot to add that Celtic visit where you want to load the new map as it is done as others via a laptop!

I have uploaded this before and this is 0-60 whereas i allowed 6.0 as 0-62....at the moment i have managed 5.7 depends on traction and the road surface.

When I first started looking at maps Celtic really put me off with their apparent lack of info but I am very tempted by them. My only concern is that 290hp is asking a bit much from the engine.

Its a Mb diesel, stop worrying:rock:

yeah the more I think about it the more I think im going Celtic for the 290hp :-)

Don't forget if you go for the remap from Celtic you have 2 weeks if you want it put back as std. again ......so no worries...

But you won't want it put back after feeling what it does to performance.

Think of it another way if you're worried about the engine......just treat it carefully and get the extra mpg that comes with it.......Lol

not thought of it like that :-)

Hi all, New to the forum and I won't pretend to know much about remaps so basically here for the knowledge. I have had my 2008 e280 for two months. Never been on a dyno but the figures state that it's 227bhp stock. For me that sounds brilliant and it feels awesome.

What would be the main benefits of a remap for me? And how does it affect the all important MPG?
