Hi All,
Assuming my insurance company would be OK with it and when I can find the spare cash needed I'm tempted to go ahead with a remap.
I had a quick chat with DMS yesterday the broad pitch was that they like the V8 5.0 but believe that Merc have it in a very relaxed state of tune. A remap gives a much improved throttle response which in turn provides the car with a noticeable change of character. In terms of numbers;
- Power goes from around just over 300 bhp to just over 340 bhp
- Torque goes from just under 340 lb/ft to just under 360 lb/ft
- Marginally improved MPG
It's totally unnecessary in the big scheme of things but then a lot of fun things in life often are.......
Tell me why I shouldn't go ahead/suggest other options - eg has anyone used DMS or anyone else to successfully remap one of the these N/A V8's?
