Aargh - I try to tell myself I mustn't consider this, but...

Anyway, I have some questions:

  • Because it's an E, my version of the M156 is already at 525hp - what gain could I expect?
  • Is it detectable by an insurance company in the event of a claim?
  • I've heard about routine servicing overwriting the map and then you're back to square one - is this true or an urban myth?
I'd be interested in real world before and after experiences too.

Thanks,

I'm not going to answer any of your questions, but I will pose another question, why do you need more power?
Do you have a LSD? That would be my first port of call with upgrades.

Yes I have an LSD.

You can never have too much power in my view.

Speak to Savman

He was doing a special on the handheld gizmo's which you can switch between maps for servicing etc

Other than that i don't know.

I would only go the Eurocharged route, however, I always like to be informed before making a decision.

What would be good if you did a before and after on the dyno to see the results would be intresting.

Don't listen to those fools :ban: :D:D:D:D

You know there is only one place to go and that's Eurocharged, have a chat with Acid he will sort you out ;)

The one who does not research all available options would be the fool.

My queries at #1 are the same, regardless of the upgrade provider.

It's these I'm looking to answer.

Because it's an E, my version of the M156 is already at 525hp - what gain could I expect? Typically around 540hp & 495lb ft, you will also see improved shifting which will be faster and smoother with Eurocharged M156 V4 map.

Is it detectable by an insurance company in the event of a claim? You should tell your insurance company of any modifications you make.

I've heard about routine servicing overwriting the map and then you're back to square one - is this true or an urban myth? Dealers can update ECU software as part of a service if required by MB, they should tell you if this is the case but don't always! Eurocharged will reflash you if this is done free of charge.
