I've only ever had 1 diesel car remaped before and wasn't massively impressed with the results. Granted it was someone popping round my house for half an hour and charging £170 for the privilege.

I'm thinking about getting my ml420 remaped with GAD tuning. Has anyone had any experience of remaps on large diesel engines with them? If not would you expect a large performance improvement?

I had my s211 e320 cdi remapped and the power increase was awesome.

Awesome sounds good! Do you think mine being a heavy 4x4 would be as good though? I suppose a twin turbo V8 should have the torque to compensate?

I would recommend having the dpf removed too if you don't mind the smoke.

Why removing the dpf? How does that benefit the car?

Removing the dpf increases fuel economy and also adds more bhp and torque as well as putting less stress on the engine as the exhaust is less restrictive (so I've been told).
I had it removed on my Grand Cherokee (same engine as the M-class) with a noticeable difference as well as having the car remapped.

Why not fit a diesel tuning box/chip? +50 BHP and can be removed/resold afterwards.

I just happen to have one off my old ML420. It's Kleemann. PM me if interested.

I had my ML350BE tuned by GAD, excellent service and a real noticeable difference, easy sub 7 seconds to 60 after and immediate glut of torque that was much more subdued before, it really turned it into a fun 4X4..........in a straight line! ;)

Give Us a call :)

Acid

Being a large 4x4 it will be more impressive remapped, I haven't done my ml, but had my last x5 done, economy did not change a bit city driving, motorways I gained 3-5 mpg. But the torque was unreal, I can't remember the exact torque figures but the power went from 218 to 270 and it was an economy map, I probably did get better mpg but used the power too often, it was amazing

That's it. I'm sold. Just who to use now...... GAD, celtic or acid?!

Does.anyone know who's closest to bristol? And is one of these particularly good?

I can find your nearest Celtic agent.

Or go on their website.
