removable w202 Bonnet Star

go to a auto store and buy a red (pos) cable and a black (neg) cable, hook the red one up to the + on your battery, hook the other end to the star, hook the black to the chasis and the other end to the star, there you go, you have a deturant :) i dont know how legal that is in the UK but very illegal here

Hmm...deadly eh?

Can't see how that would work, other than maybe causing a fire?

Metal bonnet emblem (+ 12V) mounted to metal bonnet (chassis=earthed) = instant short.  :(

Besides, 12V is unlikely to do much damage to your offender - I would be surprised if he felt a thing.

Better sticking to more conventional methods if you ask me...

(oh, and welcome to the forums :) )

very illegal and also guaranteed to be the cause of major electrical problems the least of which would be the cables you used melting

The star is connected to the bodyshell which in turn is connected directly to the chassis thus creating a nice circuit

If you'fd like a very quick demonstration of what would happen should you follow those instructions and generate this particular short circuit - place a decent sized spanner across the 2 battery terminals and stand well back :D

Even if you completely insulated the star from the bodywork it wouldn't do any good as a 12volt shock from the battery isn't going to hurt anybody.

Great minds think alike lol :o
