How To Remove DIN Tray on 2002 W210 E220CDI?

Hi great forums.

I did a lot of searching but could not find how to do this.

Anyone know how to remove the Din tray below the radio on the W210 2002 E220.

I want to get a meter installed there that can be hidden by the tray door when not in use, but the tray does not seem to slide out.

Do i have to take the centre console apart?

Not having done it myself I would look to slide out the radio then unscrew the fascia.

Hi,

Remove the radio, then you can unclip the tray unit and push it out. The clip is on the top of the DIN tray.The tray and flip up front panel will now come out as one unit.
