Got a call at 09:30 this morning from my Wife; 'I've been hit'.
Our E240 Estate looks rather sick as it was brutally attacked by an Audi A7 whilst my Wife was minding her own business in stationary traffic; clearly the Audi driver was not paying much attention to the road as otherwise he would have noticed the 12 or so car queue to the lights and braked instead of just ploughing into the back of our car. The woman in the 62 plate Merc in front of us wasn't best pleased to receive a 'nudge' either; that A7 must have been travelling at quite a pace when it hit our car.
A passing ambulance stopped and the police were called; the Audi driver admitted it was his fault and after a visit to A&E, where my Wife was diagnosed as having suffered muscular injuries to her neck and back, she was discharged along with my unharmed 18 week old daughter.
We've decided to use an independent claims company to recover our losses and already this looks like a good call as our insurers agent didn't seem to understand why we would need a 7 seat estate car in the interim yet via the independents we will have a suitable replacement on the drive by the morning.
Now starts the fun around total loss valuation - this is where I'm sure the independents will also help with fighting our corner; I don't like ambulance chasers, but here I don't want to lose out. Olly and Jack at PCS had only recently gone through our car with a fine toothcombe and I hope we can get this reflected in our settlement.
And we need to find another 211 7-seat estate of course.
