Respray the stretched limo

Just go for a set of chrome wheel trims with spinners on John:devil:
I think I prefer Hawk's option :D and if he buys them, I'll fit them

Chrome wheels? :)

Regards
John

John i love it!

i think those alloys would look better than the wheels, but to be honest, even a nice set of trims would look good on the bus...

Hi John,

Is this what you meant..?
Hi Ash,
Thank you very much indeed. Great effort and I will be posting a broadside picture when I'm fit enough to go vertical. :o :)

Much appreciated.

Regards
John

Hi Grav,
I want to avoid going darker with the wheels as I think it might be too 'blendy' ?? I would prefer something more of a contrast\shiny if you can understand what I'm waffling on about.

Thanks for the input.

John

a Bus is a vehicle designed for transporting the masses about whilst choking the roads up with deisel fumes and parking at such angles to blocks off the right of way to others, and as a mode of economics, they are expected to drive the largest of buses on routes that only get 2 or 3 people during the day, which can be filled with bus pass people who dont pay, and less than enough of which are supplied at times when people really would use them, on routes designed not to got to anywhere thats actually useful for anyone on them, requiring more than one bus or, more normally, a back breaking walk.

They have exclusive use of their own lanes which nobody is allowed in, ever, and are cunningly equipt to knock off cyclists who may use them as they are, in the main, empty and under used. In some cities (Leeds) they can activate the traffic lights too so as you have to wait at the red for 8million years while it arrives at 2.7mph and crawls hafway across the junction then stops and blocks the way for everyone.

Drivers of busses are contractually obliged not to offer pleasentry's nor smile!

From an enviroment point of view, 1Bus (Deisel) IS more polluting than 200 cars (Petrol).

The latest fuel cell busses (Mercedes, whahey) are cost prohibitve at the moment which is why London got them free. So expect your taxes to go up to pay for them, or road priucing to be introduced to force you onto them as the market force route, will cancel the word bus and indeed to use of them.

So there is your correction.

John's stretched Limo, is not, and never has been a bus and you should be ashamed of yourselves for mentioning it.

It is,of course, a Van!

John, what size are your wheels?
I have an idea:devil:

:) I reckon 15"

195/70 R15

Oh. Shame.

I have some 16" wheels that I took off the CLK when I bought the ones from R2D2.
They need a refurb, but are not dissimilar to the ones you are looking at.
Tyres are excellent too. (2 months use by the mrs)
If someone would tell if they are the right ETA etc for your 'limo', they are cheap, as I need them out of my bar;)

See them here.

Graeme they look very good.

In general you're not meant to use car wheels on vans (because the weight rating isn't high enough), but I suspect the fitting (PCD etc.) would be different too.

I understand this, but I only suggested them as it's not used as a van, but as a limo. I can't see it weighing much more than the clk.

My mate was going to have them on his vito, but has now gone for 17" instead.
They looked good on his van though.

I think you'd be surprised - John's Sprinter is a lot bigger, and he has a fair bit of kit on board ... extra battery, hydraulic(?) stuff, etc.

The kerbweight of the (low roof) Vito I'm getting is about 2100 kg.

I thank you.

Now that was not called for? :o :D

Just remember he who laughs last.........

Usually doesn't get the joke.

Tea and stickies might take on a whole new meaning for anyone that dares insult the chef's stretched limo :D

Take care
