Hi

I want to lower my car, purely for looks reasons as I feel that the front looks way too high.

I had a new c-class yesterday as a loan car and that sat much nicer. I understand that it had the sports pack....including lower suspension.

Whats involved in lowering the suspension, is it just the springs or do other parts need changing too?

How expensive is it?

Regards

I had my 320 lowered using H&Rs.

Ideally, you should change the dampers aswell to be on the safe side. IMHO the ride is 10 times better than standard and the H&R springs give a very firm ride similar to a sports set up. You really notice the springs when going round corners and on the motorway.

Cost - I paid £149 for the springs and £100 to have them fitted. You will need to raise the back end using a higher pad to even the height out.

Sports suspension package usually includes different springs, shocks and maybe perches (for fine adjustment).

You can get away with just springs though, the springs themselves are quite cheap from MB, under £100 each I would expect (no exact figures) and the labour would be a couple of hours at most.

If it were me I'd not bother with oem parts, I'd get branded tuner or proven aftermarket items. Cheaper and probably very similar.

How would a freshwater fish help fine tune your suspension ? ;)
