Rough Running at low Revs

Ever had your auto transmission fluid changed?

I had a rough idle, and after lots - and I mean lots of investigation - no I really, really, really, really mean lots of investigation at the dealer, an ATF change cured it.

Something to do with torque converter slipping and oil shearing or something dead complicated like that. At 42,000 miles a change would be a good idea anyway.

I haven't driven a c270cdi, but it is a diesel, so wouldn't you expect some vibration? my experience of 5cyl. diesels is that they are very smooth higher up the rev. band but slighty "off" coming off idle.

I do a fair few engine mounts on MB's and they do wear out. I have seen them wear out at 40k

I would agree they are not the most refined of the diesel line-up but this is something new. Until a few days ago, not a wobble, no vibration and pulls off seamlessly.

BUT just this afternoon a very slight hesitation on pulling from standstill or from coasting along on tick-over :(

Think you mean glowplugs.
Yeah you were right i did mean glowplugs, sorry.
