I'm preparing the S203 for its MOT .

One of the minor niggles is that the parking brake ( due to being an automatic car does not see a lot of use ) does not release fully by itself , usually needing a foot under the pedal as the release handle is pulled to get it to come fully off and get the warning light to go off , although it works absolutely fine and holds the car OK on hills .

I understand this is quite a common problem and that lubrication is needed .

Can anyone who has done this before say where it tends to stick and where I need to lubricate - is it the cable , or the mechanism in the brake drum ?

MIne did the same until I adjusted it correctly.
It should be fully on in 5 clicks when pressing the pedal.
Mine had about 10 and there was just too much slack in the system so the indicator would not go off every time.
To adjust correctly you start at the brake drum and then at the cable adjuster under the back seat.
