S211 car cradle no power help please!

Hi all of you knowledgeable people!

My 2003 S211 built in phone in the arm rest is the old style that takes the Nokia 6310 - never tested it with a phone. Just bought a Viseeo 1000 and the cradle is not feeding it any power. Tested the Viseeo with a nokia wall charger and it fires up fine.

Any pointers of where i start to see where the power failure maybe with the cradle?

I read that the cradles are prone to failing, how do i know without spending £200 on a new one?

The most typical failure should be a bent pin at the cradle connector, one of those that touch the connector at the bottom of the phone.

If the pins are clean and straight, I'm afraid you have to check the wiring to the control unit. Have you checked the fuse and what does the car say when you press the call button?

Thanks DB, the pins are fine, all straight, clean and spring in and out. Fuse is fine (assuming the fuse to check is the audio gateway). When i press phone button on Audio20 it says "no phone".

I guess it back to the wiring - any ideas what to do? I guess Command would be the best place to go as I'm in surrey, will have to go through th embarrasment of not buying the Viseeo from them in the first place (cheper ebay!)
