s211 e320 cdi Top and Bottom Play?

Ive noticed once or twice on full lock i get a clunk from the OSF suspension,

Jacked her up tonight checked for side to side play on nsf and top an bottom Zero clunk everything nice and tight.

Checked the OSF and i have play Top and Bottom and very small amount side to side but this i think in exaggerated by the top/bottom play.

Whats causing the top/bottom play feel/sounds more towards the bottom.

Ball joint?

I feel a chattering over bumps front the front end, mainly left. MB did a free health check and diagnosed upper and lower ball joints.

Hi, my w203 has up and down play on the forward lower osf arm but no sideways movement yet however track rod end is showing signs of wear. Tell tale tyre wear on inside shoulder. Car has 130k. Worth checking anti roll bar bushes.In my experience it's always best to check for wear over a pit or on a 4 poster lift as jacked up generally tightens things up when the suspension is on full droop.

Thanks to those who replied, just a update cured the problem it was down to the os front lower forward arm.
