S320 Wish I had seen this before buying the E-class

Yeah went cheap - bargin acctually, high spec but no SatNav. I wouldnt buy without seeing it and throughly inspecting. These S320's, and other S-Classes of the same time period can be notorious for problems (costly!).

I would suggest Mercedes diagnostics checkup and check for rust in all areas. Possibly also get AA to check it. Good luck those purchasing S-320 or 500/280/430/55/600. I will probably be in the market for an S500 or 320 in the Summer, although im worried about Mercedes-Benz build quality recently. I am used to the W124 solid build quality, strong materials and no electrical problems (for me anyways).

I dont think its got full documented history... he said he had to phone around to get it... i bet he doesnt have the stamped book...

I had the same thing on my CLK, when I bought it all I had was a print out, I bought a book and posted it to the dealerships, and I now have a fully stamped book.

doesnt have comand, but very cheap price for the car.

agree, MB check should be carried out on the car before purchase.... dunno if AA could really provide much help, best go srtaight to MB dealer and put it on StarDiag.

...and cheaper still.
I actually like jap cars, have owned many, very very reliable and good build quality. Unfortunatly I feel they have no soul compared to Benz.

in my option, i think u are better off getting a good reliable e class rather than the cheapest ever W220 S class....

you get what u pay for etc.....

but still an attractive bargain if u wanna take a risk!

Quote from Ad:
"The front tyre has gone flat, I have spoken to our garage and they have advised that it is only flat at the bottom." ;)
What next, the car runs cold but only when its started. :D

lol :)

...and the ads that say "slightly kerbed wheels - got a quote will only cost 10p each to fix" or some such. Well if it's that cheap why don't you fix the damn things before putting the car up for sale? Probably because the gross inconvenience of it all has to be factored in!!!

hehe, i had to laugh at this:

Q: if your car dosent sell i can offer u 4.600 sterlings!please let me know if you would accept the offer!

A: Hi - the auction still has 2 full days to go and already has 12 bids each way above that amount. So, after very careful consideration, the answer has to be 'no thanks'! Regards, Paul

My father traded his W124 for a new-shape S500 and has regretted it every day since. Maybe look at W211s instead?
