A nice little C240 in silver. No gold, oh well!
Hi, I have the w203 with command 2.0. I am considering getting a new satnav cd with postcode search. The disk I now have is 2003. Will I need a firmware update to use the postcode search facility? Any ideas? Thanks guys. Misty. :bannana:

The postcode thing is disc-based rather than firmware based, when you use a new disc it loads new software onto the unit anyway.

Fantastic.

I live near the M6 Toll, and my nav disc doesn't show the M6 Toll itself, any of the new roads and layouts around it, and the roads that no longer exist. The dealer said £150 - might be more inclined to upgrade if it's only £90!!

Anyone been in a silimar situation and found upgrading worthwhile?

I should have added not to mistake firmware for software. If you don't have the feature that only allows you to choose available letters in the town/street address entry screen then you ought to upgrade your firmware, this is done using a special firmware disc that contains no navigation data.

You can get the firmware update disc from your stealership, from fleabay (but don't pay more than the price of a blank CDR!) download from the internet (see other threads for possible methods) a member could send you a disc or preferably attend a GTG and ask on the GTG thread for someone with comand to take their disc along :) . The update is a one-off and takes about 20 minutes (standing around, no real activity required :) ).

I have got the M6 toll road on my 2006 and 2005 disc, although the central london W1 one way and no right turns have gone very wrong on the later discs.. the 2006 disc also can navigate you around the london central toll zone to save you £8
