The poster on the other forum has confirmed full MB service history and 29,000 miles.

He is pondering What Car? or Watchdog given the number of these failing and the uneven response from MB (plus the admission in the USA that this item needs special support).

For info, costs were £900 for the part plus £500 labour.

AIUI the underlying electrics and mechanicals are the same. The software is what is different.

Absolutely no idea, all I know is that it only offers the bare, basics. No one, but no one in the US has ever been able to alter the system to emulate the European counterpart.

What makes you say it is just software?

Just got another one approved.. this car has full service history but NONE of it at MB.. got full contribution..
