So after my V10 S6 was written off by somebody going too fast and not paying any attention I was on the look out for a suitable replacement.
Audi S6 V10 Quattro 7

My mate has had on 04 AMG for the best part of 3 years and I've always loved driving it, so much more character than the Audi with the only downsides being the lack of V10 sound, interior and sound system letting the Merc down.

An E55 or a CLS55 were the only cars I really wanted then I noticed a real minter come on the market, well documented history, low miles and reasonably priced. I had to have it. Viewed it last Friday, picked it up Monday.

Really loving it so far, though I was has issues with intermittent kick down but I think, thanks to Alps, that's been sorted with a pedal reset!

Plans so far are a 2/3 stage polish/detail, matching centre caps and brand new brakes all round (most likely EBC Yellowstuff).

Sorry about the amount of pictures, I just love this thing!

Very nice.

Is the exhaust stock? Some kleemann headers and a resonator delete will sort the noise out. They sound glorious, a match for the Audi V10 IMO.

EBC brakes? Why? they are ****e, and they ruin discs.

Thanks!

Yep stock exhaust, sounds a fair bit more quiet than my mates standard one as well for some reason.

That's what we put on my mates (discs and pads) they've been fine even after a lot of spirited driving tbh.

Very nice!! Miss my 55 so much!!

Did they not put the engine builder`s name badge on in those days ?

Indeed, Pascal Petrou built this one

Thanks!

I personally wouldnt touch EBC brakes, but thats me.

You can always just do a secondary cat and res delete which is cheap and sounds mega.

Congrats on your purchase. A fine car indeed.
Lots of different ideas on getting more exhaust noise, but headers and C63 rear mufflers are the best way, releasing more power at the same time.

Got any plans for engine mods?

Will be seeing my usual exhaust specialist this weekend to see what he can do. I don't want it too loud/ don't want the wife to notice lll

No engine mods want to leave it looking and going standard. It has plenty of poke, well more so than the Audi.

Leave the headers well alone if you want it a little muted.
I had my secondary cats and resonator removed and it does the trick. You only notice a bit more volume at any more than half throttle.
Trouble is, you get used to it and want more.

Don't blame you for leaving the engine stock. I have ummed and ahhd for 3 years over getting mine mapped and pullied but still haven't done it.

Great looking motor, best colour imo ;)

Brakes - Genuine discs and EBC Red pads , this combinations works well.

Exhaust - C63 back boxes, leave the rest alone, headers if you want more noise :)

Great looking car,, kleeman headers , primary cat delete,, c63 boxes and replace resonator with x pipe ,, will give great sound with power

And I thought I was alone on that one! :D

:D I have moments when I'm all set to pick up the phone to Acid and get it done, then get in the car and give it some and realise its pretty damn fast as stock.

Acid seems to be recommended a lot on here, how much does he charge for a pulley and map, £1000/£1500?
