Seat base cover removal

I want to remove the fabric cover from the passenger seat base on my W203, to trace a fault with the seat belt warning system.

How does it come off? Does it come off easily? Any hints and tips?

Is putting it back straightforward, or will it look like a tramps trousers?

The cover is attached around the edge with a sewn in plastic ribbon which goes into the metal clips around the edge:

On top, it's attached with clips along the seams which can be fiddly to reattach:

The blue thing is part of a plastic prying set for £5.
