Sensor in sunroof switch surround (w126 / w124)

Hi Kth286, thank you for posting, I really appreciate it. So, just to confirm, are you saying that my car, despite only having the 2 wheel temp controls and a re-circ button (See picture), it does have some sort of climate control, I did not think it did?

I can re-fit the motor and source some rubber pipe to the sensor, if this is the case. I think the matrix is a bit blocked as well though, as I cannot flush more than a tiny trickle of water through it. Any ideas how to unclogg it? I have tried holts speedflush.

Yes, it has what was called semi automatic climate control. This came with or without aircon. A more expensive option was the fully automatic push buttonn climate control which always had aircon. (The latter seems a pain and unreliable when older.)

I was without proper heating for a while last winter, ruined the car for me too. If its not too difficult for you, i'd be wanting to refit the missing tube and sensor. However, did you get heat from your car previously or is this a more recent problem?

I think I had some heat before, but as it was summer when I bought the car, i've never really tried the heater turned up to max until now. I will replace tube tomorrow and motor and see what happens. Thanks for helping me with this.

I still think the matrix/core is probably a bit blocked, do you know which side is the in and which side is the out flow of the heater matrix? I am wondering if I am flushing it the wrong way and compacting any blockage there may be? I was assuming the in was drivers side (looking in the engine bay) and the out was passenger side by ABS pump? Is that correct?
