Even tho I live in london, my university is out of london so the majority of my mileage is on the motorway. I drive conservatively to say the least so I doubt it has anything to do with that. At the end of the day, the dealer has told me that it could be any number of things in the gearbox, I think it should be there duty to check it out and tell me what it is, then give me the option to go ahead with the work or not, if it would be at a cost to me. Also, I find it hard to believe mercedes would make a car that would make loud thumping sounds that inturn affected the differential and the plate on it everytime a clutch has worn down. Logic would dictate that it is a warranted fault but the dealership is hell bent on making me pay for something considering they did 2-3 days of work on the car with no results, but a new differential put on the car.
